Keep cool this summer with Ice Kids

Stockholm’s coolest bar is offering a new experience for the whole family. While the sun beats down outside, guests of all ages can cool down at -5°C and learn more about the unique properties of Norrland ice.

The entrance to ICEBAR STOCKHOLM by ICEHOTEL is in the lobby of Nordic Sea Hotel, in the heart of central Stockholm. This is the world’s first permanent ice bar, open 365 days a year, with a constant indoor temperature of minus five degrees. All the furnishings, including the glasses, are made from pure, clear ice from the River Torne in Jukkasjärvi.

In the summer, the whole family can borrow warm capes and gloves in all sizes. Once inside ICEBAR STOCKHOLM, children can discover fantastic ice sculptures, drink fruit juice in every colour of the rainbow served in ice glasses, and answer ICEBAR STOCKHOLM’s own ice quiz. When the time comes to go back outside into the warm, the visit will be rounded off with an ice cream.

“This is the first time we have created an experience especially for families with children,” says ICEBAR Manager Joachim Kilman. “A visit to ICEBAR isn’t just about cold and ice. There’s also an incredible story to tell about the pure, natural ice, the ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjärvi, and all the expert sculptors who create fantastic works of art from enormous blocks of a River Torne ice. It’s the ideal experience for kids with a sense of curiosity and fun.”

The Ice Kids package with accommodation can be booked from 7 July until 14 August at Nordic Sea Hotel, which also offers a mini cinema and a playroom. The package costs from SEK 1,990 per night for 2 adults and 2 children, including the ice experience and breakfast.
