Nordic Sea Hotel - environmentally certified

Hotel carries “Swan” eco-label

We work continually to reduce the environmental impact of our operations, which is why Nordic Sea Hotel is certified in accordance with the Nordic “Swan” eco-label (www.svanen.nu).

This certification carries strict requirements in relation to environmental adaptation of our entire operations from a life-cycle perspective. In practice, this means that:

– We wash all our bed linen ourselves. This reduces our emissions of carbon dioxide by 40 tonnes per year, since we do not need to transport the linen to another laundry.

– We use less detergent, and apply new, chemical-free cleaning methods. More than 95 percent of our chemicals have an eco-label.

– We do not serve bottled water, king prawns or use genetically modified raw ingredients in our restaurant. Our aim is to continually increase the proportion of organic and locallyproduced products offered in Sea Bar & Restaurant. All organic waste is sorted; this means that we recycle around 45 tonnes of food waste, which biodegrades and turns into biogas.

This is the equivalent of around 5,000 litres of fuel. For further information about our environmental work, please contact our Environmental Manager, Sergio Duarte. Tel: +46 8 50 56 35 68. E-mail: sergio.duarte@nordichotels.se

Stockholm tap water

Enjoy clean, healthy water straight from the tap during your visit to Stockholm and Nordic Sea Hotel. We want to show you that Stockholm’s drinking water is among the best in the world. The water is taken from Lake Mälaren and purified at the waterworks in Lovö and Norsborg to make it suitable for drinking.
