Stockholm is home to around 70 museums, each one with its own special theme. But it’s impossible to count the city’s sights. The three crowns atop the tower of the City Hall, the books at the City Library, the narrow alleyways of Gamla Stan and works of art on the underground, to name but a few.
Nordic Sea Hotel is lucky enough to have some of the city’s most famous sights as its neighbours: Stockholm City Hall, Kulturhuset cultural centre and Gamla Stan are all within easy walking distance.
Many of the larger museums and sights are situated on Djurgården, where you can easily spend a whole day. The magnificent Nordiska Museet (featuring Swedish cultural history) and captivating Vasa Museum are within walking distance of the children’s favourites, Junibacken and Gröna Lund funfair.
Blasieholmen and Skeppsholmen are the place for art-lovers, with the National Museum and Moderna Museet. Step inside nearby Kungsträdgården underground station to continue your art-related journey.
Södermalm is home to a few real gems: The Almgren Silk Factory and Stockholm City Museum are essential parts of the city’s history.
