If you have already spent time in Stockholm city centre and you have a few hours to spare, why not take a trip out into the archipelago, or to a neighbouring town? Nordic Sea Hotel’s central location right beside Stockholm Central Station makes it easy for you to get out of the city, even without a car.
The Stockholm Archipelago is entirely unique. 25,000 islands, islets and skerries spread out like a patchwork in the sea to the east of the city. The archipelago landscape has everything – from verdant islands in the inner archipelago to bare cliffs in the outer parts.
If you are travelling by car, it is still possible to reach the archipelago. You can get to Vaxholm, Dalarö and Gustavsberg by car, for example. In this case, however, the journey is as important as the destination, so take the chance to hop on one of the white archipelago boats from Stockholm.
West of Stockholm is Lake Mälaren – the third largest lake in Sweden. Much of Sweden’s history awaits you on the shores of Lake Mälaren, with authentic small towns, historic remains, castles and manor houses.
