Nordic Light Hotel and Nordic Sea Hotel

“Gaining the right to use the Nordic ‘Swan’ eco-label is confirmation that we have come quite a way towards our long-term environmental goals. Our ambition is that our operations shall have as little impact on the environment as possible without having to sacrifice the quality and service we offer our guests”, says Anders Johansson, President of Nordic Hotels.

Nordic Light Hotel is Stockholm’s design hotel and by carrying the Swan mark demonstrates that well thought out design can be used to minimise the burden on the environment and even contribute towards improving it. Nordic Sea Hotel reflects the modern Stockholm and through the Swan mark becomes a symbol of the pro-environmental standpoint already demonstrated by the local authorities and many companies operating in Stockholm.

“Through the Swan mark we show our major corporate customers that we actively conduct environmental efforts in order to minimise the affect on the environment,” says Carina Holst, Sales Director of Nordic Hotels.

The efforts to secure the Swan eco-label for a hotel mean that the company takes an all-embracing approach to its environmental work. This involves a major commitment and coordinated effort from management and all personnel as well
as a long-term approach to environmental matters and reduced environmental impact in the day-to-day operations. The requirements of the Swan mark include reduced consumption of energy and water, pro-environmental fixtures and fittings
and consumables, eco-labelled cleaning materials and supplies, and efficient waste handling. In addition to the pro-environmental effects, systematically run environmental efforts will in the long term bring savings for the company. For example, through reduced energy consumption and lower volumes of waste.
